Yeah, it’s nice because it doesn’t involve much maths or fiddling around. Odds shouldn’t be too bad since it’s 1X2.

I’d add that it makes sense to bet on teams whose prematch odds are around evens. This would allow you maximum benefit from both eventualities – team coming back to win or throwing away lead. Also, you’ll only win in games with goals and comebacks so select teams with leaky defences and potent strike-forces.

I’m tempted not to lay this and just back teams that fit the above criteria. If you get on this over quite a few games then you should benefit over the course of the tournament. The value is there.

Winning from behind occurred twice in Euro 2012, from 24 group stage matches. If you backed and laid each match at an average QL of 50p, and average odds of 2.0, then you’d have made about £50 in free bets from a £12 loss.

But, it all depends on finding tight odds, not always easy with Netbet.

That’s interesting @Monkeytennis. I was wondering about the stats on this. As I understand it though, for the same qualifying risk you’d also gain free bets from DRAWS after your team being ahead. That’s my interpretation of this offer at least. Might need someone to brave the Netbet live chat and clarify. Thanks for the info anyway. 🙂

There’s a graphic on the promotion page for this that displays WIN-LOSE or LOSE-WIN, so I think that you won’t get anything for a draw

Fair play, grinningbeast. I’d imagine you’re probably right. Perhaps not as much profit in this as I’d hoped. Still, It’s quite good fun to add some spice to all the euros matches without any great risk. Cheering for goals and comebacks is a lot more fun than hoping for 0-0!

I interpreted this as your BET losing rather than your TEAM losing, in which case you would get the refund if it’s a draw.

T & C’s are ambiguous, so who knows.

Hmmm. Graphic on the site says “Loose (sic) after leading -> refund” but T&Cs refer to team letting you down, and refunding losing bets.

Netbet have amended the T&Cs for this offer to clarify that drawing from a winning position doesn’t qualify for a refund.

“We’ll refund your bets up to £25 if your team let you down (lose) after being ahead at any point in the match!”
