Cheltenham Final day Offers and Strategies

  • Ok so it’s almost over…..

Just how on earth are we going to get any money back 2nd tomorrow?
    The fields are massive

Skybet is done for less than £3.
Will watch out for Betfred boosts but that’s about it for me

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Denzil i’m not sure if I understand what you mean….I guess sometimes the calculator doesn’t match what your liability exactly, you’re qualifying loss won’t always be what the calculator tells you it will be what your winnings is less the liability…hence the horse we went for the calculator £501.59 but it was actually £501.16 and therefore your loss is £1.16 if that makes sense…

EDIT: Get what you mean now if it doesn’t win will we still lose £1.59, I think so as that’s just simply your lay stake – commission and the odds doesn’t affect what you will win should your lay bet win.

@fog_blog initially the 188 offer looked great but I’ve just began to look at the prices and noticed that they are only paying 1/5 for places rather than 1/4 this means for me that there’s just not enough in it when you consider the lay prices.

Might be a stupid question but how do you back a horse to place on Betfair?
Closest I could find is to back E/W.

Yes you back e/w LJH. Then you lay to win and lay to place.

Surely with this extra place betting you could cover a few horses with the same bookie?
I need to make up a spreadsheet to make it easier as ive not done any of these yet

Be careful with what you do on betfair for the E/W offers, as they have different markets. Make sure the market you use is the one you actually need. At the moment “Each Way” tab is correct for todays offers but this isn’t always the case. Theres also a market for 5 places in the 2.10 and 4 for the 4.10 which would be useless because you are covering the place you want to finish in.
I find it easier to split the bet into two, and lay each part on smarkets. At least then you know what you are getting, and comms are cheaper too.

Also, Paddy are only paying 1/5 on E/W in the 4.10. probably one to avoid. (although MBS might be worth considering)

A bit of advice please. With the bet365
4/1+ if I’ve backed a horse for £50 for say the 1530 (found a good qual loss), can I then back the prior race (1450) afterwards and will that then make the 1530 risk free?
Or is there some rule that bets have to be out on in sequence. I can’t see any problems in the T+Cs but don’t want to make any silly mistakes…..

I guess if it does it would complicate things as if have to adjust my lay amount at different odds…..

I have just seen an advert in the paper by Coral but it doesn’t seem to be showing in the app.
