Best and Worst Bookies of the Week
-
Realise this is a matter of opinion but thought I’d open this up for discussion. Best and worst bookies of the week for Cheltenham? Try not to base it on which bookie gave you most profit:
Best 3
1. Betbright – Offered some of the best odds and free bets were credited very, very quickly (10-15 minutes). I’ve criticised them a lot lately but they were great this week.
2. William Hill (Tuesday and Wednesday) – Honoured the free bets and offered great odds making arbing easy. Second place offer on all races was profitable.
3. Betfair – 3/1 offer on everyday was good especially on Day 1 and odds were generally really good.
Worst 3
1. Ladbrokes – Regardless of the first race offer everyday being profitable and second place on all races, their odds were absolute trash. Looking at my spreadsheet, the biggest qualifying losses came from them and I only managed to keep lots of them down by getting lucky.
2. William Hill (Thursday and Friday) – Best odds claim fell badly down on these two days, they were pretty poor.
3. 188 bet – Had some good offers on but their abysmal odds made it pretty much impossible to get on them.
Special mention to smarkets for holding up well considering they melted down every Saturday for almost two months.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Coral worst in my mind.
Only because they didn’t give me my Thursday and Friday £20 free bet vouchers, even though I actually got more out them via the goodwill bonus and then the Mullins/Irish winners later in the week.
I just don’t like that they refused to honour what they advertised, to rub salt in the wounds I got e-mails on the Friday nights before the last 2 weekends of races to say “make sure you remember to bet and qualify”.
Still waiting to see if I’ll get any of the British winner free bets for today!
+0Worst, bet188, 138, fun88 . slow and no free bet token or tab. Plus you need to send documents to withdraw! Funny how they take your money so quick without documents!!!
+0Betbright certainly surpassed my exceptions especially given their rather poor reputation on this forum. They offered decent odds, prompt money back and their website is very easy to use. They get my vote for the best.
Ladbrokes on the other hand gubbed me at some point during the first day without giving any sort of notice. Quite a few pounds wasted on them with no free bet on the first day. Just a complete waste of time, got the be the worst for me.
+0Worst were 12bet and fun88. Owned by same company so must use same server, completely useless on wednesday. Best for me probably hills, bet365 odds were good too.
+0Gotta agree with you on BetBright. Joined a couple of months back and thought they were great from the beginning. Good odds, decent offers, quick with free bets. They also had loads of good cheltenham boosts in the run up. Thing I like most though is their ios app is flawless. Much like skybet it’s clean, fast and reliable. Unlike some of the clunky, dated offerings from Betfred and Coral! I like the free text notifications too. Not needed, but a nice touch.
+0Best for me was hills. Odds were spot on and the free bets were paid out pretty fast, skybet were good as usual. Coral and ladbrokes odds were poor all week though
+0I thought Coral were brilliant, 20 x 4 in the bank, 3 x 5 Mullins, 6 x 5 Irish, 4 x 5 British and always great odds to lay the freebies
+012bet was so bad on Wednesday, I managed to place 1 bet and I couldn’t find it for hours, gave up in the end with the site freezing up… I personally cannot stand ladbroke’s website, it hangs like hell.
Netbet had some Ok offers but they make a habit of not honouring their promotions from my experiences. I didn’t receive the 2 of the 3 £5 FB’s from them and I’m pretty sure most others didn’t either. I have a bug bear with bookies that purposely force you to have to go onto chat to redeem a FB that should otherwise be automatic.
In terms of the best, it depends what your judging criteria is but I’d go for Will hill and betfair myself. Betfair had a nice little touch with their buy 4x £5 bets for £10 etc emails and the £75 in freebets first day was supurb even though I wasn’t lucky enough to win first day.
W hill has some great prices on favourites but agree went downhill a little towards the last two days. Unfortunately i’m restricted on Betbright so can’t comment on them.
most generosity goes to Coral and Sky just for their first race profit bumpers. It meant that those that had a crap day on the 2nd place/1st place freebets could turn a profit.
+0188bet for me love those huys withdrew no issues and promptly paid. Corals were amoungst my worst as they done me out of the £20 free bets in the beginning of the week. 12 bet and 38bet were useless on Tuesday couldnt do anything with the sites and most had given up by the weds on using them freeing uo their servers for me to pound on the bets on weds thurs , prompt payment of free bets and if you have used them before then easy to understand that the free bet gets used first beforfe your cash.
Realdealbet were quite good also giving me that limited £50 free bet and quick withdrawal with none of the KYC crap to do. 10 bet hats off to tose guys came up trumps on a few deals this weeks with them from a free 310 bet to a 25% bonus and easy turn around of cash once again.
All in all a successfu week 🙂
+0Just found out 188Bet rejected my withdrawal, apparently ‘Turnover Criteria not met’.
They are basically telling me that I can’t withdraw more than I deposited. What a bunch of frauds.+0LJH – I believe that actually means you have not played through your whole deposit once.
+0I’d just like to praise Smarkets for managing to keep up with demand. Seems like whatever they were doing a few months ago to update their service has worked, would’ve been a disaster if they had gone down like they used to for Saturday kick off.
Other side of the coin in my opinion are will hill and betfair SB who couldn’t make a mobile site for toffee, I lost out on loads of good odds simply because they took so long to navigate and load up.
Still, can’t complain really, incredible profits for 4 days.
(sounds like I missed out on betbright as well, I never went back after I did the sub because the odds were so bad – time to log in again methinks!)+0Agree with Chris list but would add Coral to worst. Offers not well advertised, chat down, emails ignored …..
Betbright I liked but have to say their free bets expire pretty quickly. I lost one of mine before I got a chance to play it …
+0Best
Coral – Tons of free bets that pretty much made the festival for me.
Will Hill – Odds always great and 2nd place all day.
Worst
Skybet – 1st race offer didn’t make up for their uniformly awful odds all week.
Betbright – For gubbing me months ago. 😉
+0Sy, I never received the £5 on NetBet on Thursday, but when i logged in on Friday i had a £10 bonus waiting.
