Newbie – help please for matched betting on horses
-
Hi,
Have been match betting on football matches since Xmas and now want to try horse racing. Just a little confused – and I have searched the net but found no answers – about win only and each way. For offers that give a free bet if the horse is placed 2nd/3rd/4th should my back bet be win only or each way? And – how to I calculate my lay bet for each way bets? Sorry for asking this as I expect it has been answered before – I just can’t find the thread.+0March 30, 2016 at 4:24 pm

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Majority of cases you’re on the ‘Win’ market. Look at the terms of the offer, but I don’t think I’ve ever done an Each Way bet in terms of Matched Betting.
+0Pick your horse at the bookies (make sure you meet requirements of the offer), then lay against it. If it comes 2nd/3rd/4th or whatever the offer is happy days. If it wins or doesn’t come 2nd you’ll lose a small profit but in the long run it’ll be profitable extracting 80% out of free bets

Good info in the link above.
1. Get tight back and lay odds for low qualifying loss (less than £2.50 for a £25 free bet)
2. Find a horse with a decent chance of delivering the free bet (favourite or 2nd favourite are most likely to finish 2nd).But I guess that wasn’t your question! Ignore e/w, you are backing to win and laying to win.
+0Thanks, guys.
