The suggestion in the other thread is to either let it ride and hope your team win enough to cover the initial bet or to at least leave the lay until after the groups.

I wouldn’t count on the lay coming down after the groups.
I noticed in the World Cup a number of teams odds didn’t move even after they qualified for the next round. Uruguay odds actually lengthened after they qualified form the group of death (obvious reasons I know – but goes to show bad performance, injury or suspension could hit your odds hard)…
+0I guess qualifiing is basically baked into the odds of the bigger teams and thus shouldn’t effect them too much unless something unexpected happens like a wee team winning an other group etc.
I’m tempted to let Germany ride though.
